Overview

A complete brand identity for an artisan spirits distillery — from naming and mark design through to label, packaging, and print collateral.

A brand as crafted as the spirits it represents.

Cellar & Grain was launching their first product line — a range of small-batch whiskeys and gins — and needed a brand identity that could earn shelf space alongside established labels while communicating the authentic craftsmanship behind the product.

We built an identity system rooted in the distillery's provenance: the building's industrial heritage, the grain-forward production process, and the founders' obsessive attention to detail. The result was a brand that felt established from day one.

The challenge

Creating a premium spirits identity with print-ready label files on a startup timeline, while navigating complex regulatory requirements for spirits labelling.

Premium aesthetics, regulatory compliance, startup timeline.

Spirits labelling is heavily regulated — mandatory information, type sizes, and government warnings all compete for space on a surface that needs to look beautiful. Designing within these constraints without compromising the aesthetic was the core challenge.

We worked with the distillery's legal team from week one to ensure every label variant was compliant across all target markets, eliminating the back-and-forth that typically delays product launches by months.

"CenterPoint understood craft from the first meeting. They gave us a brand that looks like it's been around for decades, and we launched with retail placement we never expected for a first product. The label design even got nominated for an award."
