Overview

A complete UX redesign of a fintech portfolio dashboard — research-led, prototype-tested, and delivered as a production-ready Figma system.

A dashboard that finally made sense.

Vaultly's dashboard had evolved organically over three years of feature additions. The result was a product their power users had memorised — and everyone else couldn't navigate. Support tickets about basic tasks were piling up.

We started with research: 12 user interviews, task analysis, and a heuristic audit that identified 34 distinct usability issues. From there, we rebuilt the information architecture from scratch and redesigned every core screen.

The challenge

Redesigning a complex financial tool without alienating the power users who had built their workflows around the existing interface.

Improving usability without breaking muscle memory.

The core tension was between new users — for whom the product felt overwhelming — and power users who had spent months learning its quirks. Any redesign that helped one group at the expense of the other would create more problems than it solved.

We solved this through progressive disclosure — surfacing the most common actions prominently while keeping advanced functionality accessible but unobtrusive. Power users found everything they needed; new users could get started without a manual.

★★★★★
"The research phase alone was worth the engagement. CenterPoint surfaced issues we'd been arguing about internally for a year and gave us a framework to resolve them. The redesign is our most-praised product update to date."
